Personal experience
After reading lots of information about the unregulated use of toxic chemicals in most disposable nappies, I was keen to use real nappies. I also care about the environment and was appalled by the amount of nappies being put into landfill sites each year.
I bought a ‘Birth to Potty’ pack of real nappies and they have been fantastic. They are really easy to use, with a velcro shut cover and separate inner and I only need to do a nappy wash every 3 days. I don’t have a tumble dryer but they dry very quickly on an airier. They also seem to leak less than disposables. Financially they are great as I am saving a lot of money and hope to re-use the same ones if I have another child.
I would really recommend real nappies as they are cheaper, better for the environment, have no toxic chemicals but contrary to popular belief are not at all hard work.

Top Tips
- When storing used nappies in a bucket to be washed, sprinkle over a few drops of tea tree or lavender oil. It is antibacterial and also smells nice!
