Health Care Professionals Resource Pack

A new real nappy resource pack has been launched for healthcare professionals in Scotland to promote the benefits of using real nappies.

Midwives, health visitors and other ante/post natal care providers will be able to use the pack in antenatal and postnatal education to help parents and parents-to-be make informed choices about which nappy system to use on their baby.

Developed by the Real Nappy Campaign in Scotland - a partnership between WRAP and the Scottish Waste Awareness Group (SWAG) - the resource pack is the result of detailed consultation with midwives and health visitors and contains:

1. an informative booklet giving clear, concise guidance on the use of real nappies;

2. contact details for local real nappy retailers, laundries, projects and networks; and

3. real nappy samples and presentation cards, to enable healthcare professionals to demonstrate the wide range of styles available.

All of the pack resources, except the nappy samples, can be downloaded from the Waste Aware Scotland website.

For more information on the pack, please contact Helen Brown, Real Nappy Campaign Co-ordinator for Scotland (01506 840665).

WRAP are working with WEN to distribute a healthcare professional pack to English healthcare staff shortly.
